Volunteer of the Month – May

Sunday, May 26th, 2013 0 COMMENTS

Every month, the Catty Shack Board of Directors decide on a Volunteer of the Month to give an extra special “thank you” to. Every one of our volunteers is special to us and we are thankful for all of them – without our volunteers, Catty Shack would not be where are today! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, check out our volunteer page.

When did you start volunteering at Catty Shack? August 2010

How did you start volunteering at Catty Shack? I retired from a Corporate HR position in April of that year and wanted something to do. I found Duval RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) through their website, filled out an application and had a personal interview with the Director. The application asked what I liked to do and I responded, “creating order out of chaos.” Well, the Director had recently met with Assistant Director, Kim Kyle, at the Ranch and viewed the Catty Shack office…it was decided that I might be a perfect fit for the position!

What has been your favorite moment(s) at Catty Shack so far? Every week when I come to the Ranch it’s special. I so admire Curt, Kim, and all the volunteers who make the Ranch a success. But one comment from Kim made my day. She said, “Curt was looking for a receipt, he went to the file and found it right away!” As the “office manager” it can’t get any better than that.

Thank you, Kathy, for everything you do at Catty Shack!
