Sorry, everyone – it’s a bit late this month, but here’s the most recent Volunteer of the Month!

Every month, the Catty Shack Board of Directors decide on a Volunteer of the Month to give an extra special “thank you” to. Every one of our volunteers is special to us and we are thankful for all of them – without our volunteers, Catty Shack would not be where are today! The following is a spotlight on this month’s “Volunteer of the Month”. Enjoy!

Time Volunteered at Catty Shack: Just over one year now, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

How did you start volunteering at Catty Shack?  I first came to Catty Shack as a visitor, then signed up to volunteer shortly after. I’ve always had a passion for conservation, the environment and wildlife, especially big cats. I have an affinity for cats in general, so I wanted to contribute right away.

What has been your favorite moment(s) at Catty Shack so far? I enjoy all my time at Catty Shack, so choosing a favorite moment is difficult. I guess it’s the first time I saw our tiger cubs when they were a few weeks old. Not many people have seen five Siberian tiger cubs in person. It’s such a privilege. I also like seeing the looks of appreciation on visitors’ faces when they first walk in and see the animals.
