We so excited to announce that VactionHomeRentals.com, a TripAdvisor company, has listed Catty Shack Ranch as the #1 family attraction in Florida! The best attractions were chosen for each state based on positive traveler reviews, the amount of fun for all ages, and the “bang for your buck.”
On the weekends of October 10th and 17th, Catty Shack Ranch had our 9th annual Haunted Forest. More than 2000 visitors came out to enjoy arts and crafts, our scary Haunted Forest, and of course the animals! All of our animals enjoyed seeing the costumes; it actually acts as a safe enrichment for them. Our visitors enjoyed the decorations, games, and the haunted trail which included scare actors and more than a few surprises!
Congratulations to Sherri R., who won the “Guess the Pumpkin’s Weight” game, and to Robin T., who won the “Guess the Number of Eyeballs” in the jar!
Special thanks to our Halloween Committee and to the volunteer groups who helped to make this event possible: HHF-FSCJ, UNF SAE (Sigma Alpha Epsilon), the 501st Legion (including Storm Troopers and Darth Vader), Girl Scout Troop 1103, and Letz-Face-It (who provided face painting)! It was a lot of work, but this was our best Halloween yet!

The November Roar N’ Snore registration is NOW OPEN! There are only 14 campsites left. Register today to ensure your spot for our most popular event of the year!
This one-of-a-kind event allows families and friends to camp outside next to our residents. Since our animals are mostly nocturnal, you’re sure to hear tons of roars, growls, and other noises all around you while you sleep (or just enjoy the bonfire!) This year’s Roar N’ Snore will be on Saturday, November 22 to Sunday, November 23. Adults are $75 each, children are $35 each. Tickets prices include:
- Campsite near our animals (please bring your own camping equipment)
- Night feeding of the animals (reserved ONLY for Roar N’ Snore participants)
- S’mores around the bonfire
More than 1,000 people had fun at our Haunted Forest last weekend! Were you able to join us? If not, don’t worry…we’re still open on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, for our final days of the Halloween Haunted Forest.
During your visit, children will enjoy crafts and games under our tent (included in your admission price!) and time to visit our residents…oh, and don’t forget to walk through the Haunted Forest! (Don’t worry – for the kids that are a bit too scared to visit the ghosts and ghouls in the Forest, it’s completely optional…and there’s plenty to do between visiting our residents and all the crafts to keep everyone busy!)

Saturday, October 18 – 1:00 – 9:00 PM, Last admittance at 8:15 PM
