Epping Forest
Earlier this month Catty Shack had the opportunity to team up with Epping Forest Yacht Club for a very unique event. On a Sunday afternoon, Epping Forest hosted a special “Brunch with Hercules.” Hercules is one of our white Siberian tigers and loves to go out in public and say “hello!”

Over 150 families came out to the event and enjoyed a beautiful day, great food, and learned about Catty Shack and what we do. It was fun for the whole family…there was even a facepainter (Letz Face It from Georgia) and a bouncy house for the kids!

Epping Forest Yacht Club is on the National Register of Historic Places and boasts beautiful grounds and buildings with plenty of modern conveniences. Members get to enjoy a 12,000 square foot fitness center, six pools, a private marina, tennis courts, children’s playground, and delicious food at the Wheelhouse Cafe.

Thank you, Epping Forest, for hosting this amazing event and helping spread the word about Catty Shack!

April Enrichments: Watermelons!

Monday, April 14th, 2014 1 COMMENTS

WatermelonsThroughout April, we will give our residents watermelons as a special enrichment activity. The love to play and destroy the melons! But we need your help – even more watermelons are needed to make sure every resident has their own melon to play with.

We received 10 watermelon donations this past weekend (thank you to everyone who brought one out while visiting!) We still need about 40 more watermelons. If you plan on visiting us during April, please consider bringing a watermelon with you! Our animals will appreciate it.

Help Our Enrichment Team!

Here’s your chance to help our enrichment team! If you plan on visiting the ranch this week (for a Thursday Daytime Tour, Saturday Night Feeding, or Sunday Daytime Tour) bring a watermelon!

Our enrichment team will give out watermelons to some of our residents on Sunday, April 13 (which is also a great day to come visit)! If you are interested in watching the watermelon toss, plan on arriving close to our 1 PM start time…this will allow you enough time to receive a full tour before the watermelons are given out.

Our enrichment team plans and coordinates new and exciting “toys,” experiences, and other enrichments for all our animals every month. Watermelons are just one of the fun things our animals get to play with…we also give them pumpkins, blood popsicles, Christmas trees, boxes with treats, birthday “cakes,” and much more.
