Painting with a TwistPainting with a Twist was founded in 2009 as a franchise of Corks N Canvas, a Louisiana company created by Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney. The company owners maintain a core value of giving back to the community through their program, Painting with a Purpose. Painting with a Purpose is a monthly fundraising event held at all franchise locations. In May, the Catty Shack Ranch was selected as their community cause for the San Marco location. The event was held on May 4th and guests, along with a few Catty Shack Ranch volunteers, were able to create their own painting of a jaguar. A great time was had by everyone and altogether the event raised $720 for the Catty Shack Ranch. Painting with a Twist offers a fantastic experience for anyone that has ever wished to unleash the artist within. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this event!

Painting with a Twist offers a unique experience where guests, beginner to experienced, are able to re-create an original painting. Under the guidance of one of their experienced artists, Painting with a Twist creates a fun atmosphere where the guests are also offered wine or their choice of other beverages. Together with Corks N Canvas, Painting with a Twist stands as one of the largest employers of aspiring artists, with 137 franchises throughout the nation.

As they state on their website, www.paintingwithatwist.com, “It’s a little bit of paint, a little bit of wine, and a whole lot of fun!”

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Spring Roar N’ Snore. It was a great turnout and everyone had a fun time visiting with the lions, tigers, leopards, cougars, and all the other residents! Since most of our animals are mainly nocturnal, they loved having company over to show off and roar all night!

We want to send out a special thank you to the Waffle House for providing delicious breakfast for everyone. Special thanks to Jessica Rettig and Courtney Self for going the extra mile to make breakfast great. After staying up all night, our guests enjoyed the much-needed coffee during breakfast. Everyone finished their stay at the Ranch with a hot breakfast “feast” and left full and happy.

Started in 1955, Waffle House’s motto is “We are not in the food business…we are in the people business.” They certainly lived up to their motto!

Even though the Ranch may be the most unique dining opportunity you’ll have in a long time, Waffle Houses strive to provide a unique and comfortable dining experience with their Waffle House jukebox, enthusiastic associates, and 24/7 hours of operation. Next time you see the yellow sign, stop in for a delicious meal!
