About The Catty Shack

The Catty Shack Ranch is dedicated the rescue and care of big cats. We provide sanctuary to cats confiscated by the state for illegal ownership, improper enclosures or maltreatment. We also educate the public to discourage illegal, private ownership. Wild animals, especially big cats, do not make good pets.

At our Cats of the World Tour photo booth and through our "edu-tainment" presentations for schools and children's organizations, we provide hands-on interaction with our baby cats. Their teeth and size even early on, provide a strong argument against private ownership. Also, this opportunity, for some, is the chance of a lifetime - to be up close and personal with a tiger, cougar or lion.

We encourage everyone to join us in the fight against extinction. Although not all of our cats are endangered, many are threatened due to the loss of their habitat, all around the world. Siberian Tigers, in particular, are at great risk, with only an estimated 150-300 left in the wild. Siberian Tigers are poached for their hide and their organs. Virtually every part of the Tiger has a corresponding medicinal or ceremonial use. It is estimated that we lose one tiger each day to poaching.

Despite their differences in size, you will find many similarities regarding the care and handling of the animals. Each animal is treated with the utmost respect, and they are raised comparable to the way any child should be raised. Their needs are provided for by their family, and they are taught behaviors and skills that are appropriate. To find out more about the animal's care, click here.

We invite you to step into our world at The Catty Shack Ranch and become a proponent for these animals.
